Md Erfanul Alam
My name is Md Erfanul Alam, I am a fluid dynamicist with expertise in the interfacial fluid mechanics. My work emphasizes in a specific area of Mechanical Engineering that focuses on studying fluid and solid interface. Highly-couple fluid and solid mechanics make drop ejections difficult to predict, but adhesion and elastic theory shed light on these beautiful and rapid drying sequences. I study structural damping produced by the sloshing of drops in millimetric scale where the drops' motion is limit by Surface tension and adhesion force.
My work in these areas has generated broad interest across the fields of engineering, biology, and robotics, resulting in publications in a number of high-impact interdisciplinary journals such as the Softmatter, Journal of the Royal Society Interface, as well as popular journals such as Physics of Fluids.
